9 Months Old

Yep...another month has passed. Our little gal is 9 months old! People keep telling us it just keeps getting better the older they get, and it's SO true.

We also went to visit jolly ole' St. Nick this past week. Emily wasn't quite sure what to make of the whole experience. I was actually kindof surprised she even sat on his lap at all!

Happy Holidays everyone!!! We miss you all & hope you will enjoy Christmas as much as we have already. Thinking of you & sending lots of love :)

Giving Thanks

Whew! We survived our first family trip up to the Bay Area! Lots of fun & running around, but why, oh why, does it always seem to go by so quickly?!? I am really amazed at how well Emily adjusted to the crazy schedule too. It made me realize that mom may be a little more attached to the schedule than Emily ;) Here are a few highlights from the week:

On the flight there, the crew gave Emily a set of "wings" to wear. And, afterwards the pilot invited us on a tour of the cockpit.

Emily made lots of new friends (and loved them all, of couse)!

Remy (the Moe's 1st born) was by far Emmi's favorite. Luckily, she doesn't know enough to ask Santa for a puppy for Christmas, or we'd be in trouble.

Thanksgiving morning we joined our friends for a beautiful (and brisk - yikes!) walk. It made us all feel a lot less guilty about the Turkey splurge to come later in the day.

Turkey Day with the Yergos. Somehow, I missed Adam in this shot. I think he must've been busy carving away at the beautiful turkey...

Then, the Tree Farm to pick up Grandma D's Christmas tree. We got hot Apple Cider and saw Llamas. Quite a combo!

As sad as it was to say goodbye, Christmas is right around the corner. I just love the holidays!!!

8 Months Old

What an exciting month this has been! For Emily's 8 Month Birthday, she got not 1, but 2 Yergo visits! Such a treat! How Emily just loves, loves, loves her Auntie & Uncles!

Emily's dress was a gift from Uncle Marc. I wanted to include this picture below so you could get the full effect. There are yards & yards of this fabulous tulle & fluff. It's absolutely gorgeous! Just like a dress from a fairy tale!!! Oh - and sparkly glitter shoes to match. Too perfect :)

For Uncle Marc's visit, we went to Coronado, so Emily could share one of her favorite things with him...the ocean!

2 weeks later, we got to see Auntie Sara. Emily insisted on taking Sara to another favorite place of hers, Balboa Park, to show her all of the fantastic fountains!

This was one of my favorite pictures of Emily & Auntie Sara!

If only every month was this fun! Next on the list...spending some time in the Bay Area with family & friends. Should be another fantastic month!

One Exciting Weekend!

Emily was a busy little thing this weekend. On Friday, she started officially scootching across the floor! Not quite a crawl yet, but she's definitely on her way. She started using both her arms and legs to get things in front of her, instead of just rolling her way across the floor (which is what she's been doing for a few weeks now). I seriously thought she was going to skip crawling all together for her more preferred method of steamrolling.

Then, on Sunday we discovered her first tooth!!! She's been a little crabby lately, and waking up at 5:30am all week, so I guess we should've known. Tried to get a picture of Mr. Toothy, but she was understandably NOT in the mood to get pictures taken :)

Last but not least, she survived the first week with her DOC Band. We were terrified that she was going to have a hard time adjusting to it, given her current opinion of hats, but she barely even noticed she was wearing anything. What a trooper! 1 week down, 2 months and 3 weeks to go!

Quack, Quack!

I know it's a little late, but I wanted to post a few pictures from Emily's 1st Halloween...

We started the weekend off at a costume party with a few of her little friends

Then, some pumpkin carving. Not a great picture, but the only one with all 3 of the kids.

Saturday morning coffee run with Dad.

Then we spent the afternoon at a Harvest Festival with Nana & Grampy. The highlight of the evening for Emily was a little dog she met that was dressed as a bumblebee.

Emily in Action

I took this video last week when the weather started to get chilly, and we pulled out her bunny slippers to keep those little toes warm (it also happened to be right before her nap, so she's got the eye rub going on too).

She couldn't quite figure it all out. When in doubt...it goes right in the mouth. You can also see her balancing & catching herself from falling backwards. She's doing really well sitting all by herself these days. We hardly need the pillows behind her anymore!

Pumpkins Everywhere!

Last weekend Emmi, Grampy, Nana & I all took a trip up to Bates Nut Farm, which is where we used to take field trips when I was a little girl. It was definitely a lot bigger than I remember, with hay rides, pony rides & lots of fair food (i.e. funnel cakes). Yum!

Pumpkins, horses & hay all around her, and she is too busy taking off (and eating) her bow to notice.

Lunchtime! I actually think this was Emily's favorite part of the day because she got to eat apples (her fav) & listen to a little band playing right beside us. She was actually bouncing & dancing to the music :)

7 Months Old

Where has this month gone??? Maybe it's the change in seasons, or the excitement of the holidays right around the corner, but the last few weeks have flown by. Here are a few pictures from Emily's monthly photo shoot:

We also had Emmi baptized earlier this month. She actually did fantastic. She wasn't all too thrilled about the water being poured on her head. I think she was just a little surprised by the whole thing, but once the congregation started clapping, she was back to being excited (kicking her legs and everything).

Primping beforehand. 1, 2, 3...eyes on me!

Being the center of attention was a little exhausting...
