A Woman About Town

We know this year will be packed with a ton of "firsts" for Miss Emily, and it has been so much fun already, especially now that she seems to be much more aware of the world around her. Even just in the last couple of weeks, we've had so much fun introducing her to a few new things.

Her 1st Happy Hour. We went to Old Town and it was packed. We thought Emily was going to wake up, but no, she slept through all the noise, even the mariachi band!

Her 1st Birthday Party

Her 1st Lipstick. Just kidding! She got a little dose of Baby Tylenol after her shots and it was Cherry flavored.

Her 1st baseball game. Yes, I know it doesn't count until we go to an A's game.

Her 1st Feline Friends

Her 1st Mohawk & 1st Hair Knot. We have to brush out the knots every morning!

Lady Goo Goo Ga Ga

We've got a talker!!! Just this week, Emily has found her voice & is already chatting up a storm. She seriously has little conversations with us. It's awesome.

Not just that, she's also found her hands and loves, loves, loves to just look around and check out the world. Trips to the park & meeting new people is sooooo much fun. She just takes it all in.

Here's her unreleased music video... this is a bootleg copy from a cell phone.

A Reason to Celebrate!

We really have quite a reason to celebrate. Drumroll please...

Not only did Emily turn a whole 2 months on the 7th, she's been officially sleeping through the night! She started sleeping at 6 hour intervals the week she turned 2 months old, and has stuck with it, sometimes sleeping up to 8 hours. I think I woke up at least 10 times the first night to make sure she was still breathing! She still wakes up and stirs every now and then, but for the most part she's been sleeping like a champ. We're so proud.

I have to admit, though, her little accomplishment couldn't have come any sooner. I think we were all becoming a bit delirious (and a tad cranky) from sleep deprivation. Nightlife in the Yergo house is beginning to feel normal again!

She was being so good on that chair, we tried to get a cute video of her. But, of course, as soon as the camera turned on, she got cranky. She has quite a mind of her own, that little Em.

Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend

Okay - these videos are a few weeks old, but we had to share them and the fun story.

It all started because I wanted to play Em a song before bedtime with the word Cherry in it (since her PJ's had Cherries on them). Naturally, "Cherry Cherry" by Neil Diamond came to mind. So, we played the song & she LOVED his voice. We played a few more, and decided to turn it into a Diamond tribute night.

Here are a couple videos from our concert. In case you don't recognize the 2nd one, it's dad singing her "Hello Again" to wind things down :)

Strike a Pose

We were so pleased with little Emily's newborn pictures, we wanted to share a few of our favorites ones. She looks so tiny! They were taken just a few weeks after she was born. She was such a sleepyhead, the last picture is the only one we have with her eyes open. It's really amazing how much she's grown even in the last month! Hope you enjoy :)

Happy Moms Day

It was my 1st official Mother's Day & it felt like my birthday all over again...except better, of course. Emily & David took me to Mission Bay for a walk and a picnic lunch afterwards. It was perfect. The weather was a little chilly (you can see Emily getting a little grumpy in one picture), but we still had a fantastic time.

Thanks to my favorite guy & gal for a wonderful day. I'm so lucky to have you both!

Emily Meets Uncle Matthew

You'll have to excuse the lateness of this post. It's been a crazy couple of weeks...

We were SOOO excited to have Emily met the 1st installment of the Yergovich clan. The weather was great & Emily was on her best behavior. I think mostly because she recognized the Yergo hair and knew he was family. She, of course, also loved every minute of Matthew telling her how wonderful & cute she is.

On Sunday afternoon, Matthew jumped in at the last minute to play on David's baseball team because they were short players. He did awesome & definitely looked the part. The ladies also came to join in the fun. David said she could hear Em cheering for him all the way from the dugout :)
